Country home cooking at its finest. Not a fancy place, but fresh food, beautifully prepared by two lovely ladies. Little touches, like real maple syrup for a very modest up charge. Bottomless cup of coffee. Homemade pies and desserts, and gluten-free choices too. Friendly service. I feel like I am in my aunt's kitchen.
Stopped on my way from Ellicottville to Buffalo and had breakfast and Sunday morning. Nice family joint, just the right kind of menu, and fast service. The home fries were killer!
The service is great. The food options are varied. The place is homey. Friday fish is very good.
Never had a bad meal there. Wait staff is always FAST and check back often to make sure everything's ok. Ambiance is nice, cozy, up to date and attracts an older customer base. I was just there Sunday, and they did a great job.
The Scarlet Vetter says.....I stopped here for a quick breakfast on a Tuesday morning while my dog was getting groomed down the street. There are only good things to say about this place. Spacious, nicely appointed, great food, great service. Refills of coffee were freely offered and the server checked on me just the right number of times. The portions were plentiful and the food quite good. I ordered a King Cheese Omelette with a side of Sausage and Rye Toast. The server asked me if I wanted onion in my home fries which is a nice inquiry and I noticed that she asked other tables as well. When I ordered my home fries extra crispy they actually came extra crispy! I decided to linger awhile after I finished my food and paid, and I was still asked if I would like more coffee. Nice touch. I instead asked for water and it was quickly brought. Bathrooms were cute and clean and have an infant changing table. I would recommend this place for anyone spending time in or near Springville, New York.
We stopped by after skiing and we're pleased to find a cute local diner with down home decor that was like taking a step back in time and visiting your grandma. We were lucky that there was not a wait. We got seated quickly and were able to order from the breakfast or lunch menu. I ended up ordering gluten free toast and bacon because I needed to eat non staining foods. It was good, the bacon was cooked perfectly and had a generous portion. I was happy to hear they had several GF options including bread, bagels and English muffins. My friend ordered a full breakfast which included 2 of each- pancakes, bacon and French toast. It looked like the perfect breakfast feast. She was very happy. In the end we were surprised that the bill was only about $15. Such a good deal! Make sure to bring cash because they do not take cards but they do have an atm on site. There's not a lot of notices about it being cash only.
I grew up in the Southern Tier, with family in Buffalo. So I have driven back and forth by Apple Dumplin probably hundreds of times over the course of my life ... and have never stopped in. But finally the stars aligned! My husband and I were going by on a weekday late morning, and I FINALLY stopped at Apple Dumplin for breakfast! And after the most excellent breakfast we had, I am kicking myself for not stopping sooner! :-O Apple Dumplin is mainly open for breakfast and lunch, with dinner hours on Friday only. It is easy to drive by because it looks like a house. There is plenty of parking. When you walk up to building, and walk in, it really feels like you are walking into a sweet grandmother's parlor, just warm and cozy. We came in just before 11am on a weekday, and had our pick of tables. It is bigger inside than it looks outside, with a room off of the back. The space is bright and clean. It was almost empty when we got there, but by a bit after noon the crowd was starting to fill in for lunch. Our friendly waitress gave us both breakfast and lunch menus. Both my husband and I went with breakfast options. He went with the Steak and Eggs breakfast, and added a side of biscuits and gravy. I chose the King Cheese omelet, and added mushrooms. Our food came out fairly fast, and our nice waitress kept the coffee flowing. We were both entirely pleased with our meals. My husband's breakfast had a generous steak that was tender and juicy. He devoured the biscuits and gravy, one of his faves. My omelet was nice and bouncy and cheesy. Both of our dishes had a generous side of fried potatoes, just the way I like them, cubed with crisp outsides and soft insides. Everything was fully satisfying. I was even impressed with the condiments at the table! All of the tables had Frank's and mustard as a staple, including the usual ketchup. AND the jelly packet assortment included some seedless jelly! I LOVE seedless jelly, as the seeds always get stuck in my fillings, and you just don't see that anywhere! It is the little details that go a long way. :-D And you know what else goes a long way here at Apple Dumplin? ... your dollar! Wow, the prices are good! My omelet spread was just $8.99! My husband's steak and eggs breakfast was just $10.99! The side of biscuits and gravy was just $2.99! BUT BE AWARE--Apple Dumplin is CASH ONLY! It is a small inconvenience for the fantastic prices and excellent quality breakfast. The breakfast menu had all of the typical things you'd expect, with the lunch menu having the usual variety of sandwiches and entrees too. There was a nice variety on the dessert menu on the wall too, but we were just too stuffed to try any pie this time around. Plus I still need to try something with their namesake-apples, like their apple dumpling itself. The waitress said the apple french toast is a well-loved popular pick, too. We will undoubtedly stop by Apple Dumplin again when we are in the Springville area at a time they are open--as I am not waiting another many-decades for that great breakfast again!! :-D
A drive out to Springville should be on your must do bucket list this time of year to see the fall foliage - the view on the way to Apple Dumplin Restaurant was breathtaking . This diner reminded me of a grandmas house - special emphasis on their desserts with a cozy feel. I wasn't feeling like eggs this time around, so I got their "famous" apple French toast and a side of home fries (no onions) while my father ordered his go to meal - a western omelette. Also two fresh cups of coffee (because no breakfast is complete without it!) The food came out fresh and hot . The star of the show was the French toast - like an apple pie breakfast delight! Sadly my potatoes came with some onions on them but I was able to pick around them . My dad enjoyed his omelette although he admitted he has had better - the cheese on it was tasty though , better than just processed cheese slices. Service was swift, yet friendly ! I would like to try lunch next time and some of those yummy desserts that were on the board.
Driving home from Ellicotville, happened to see this place on Yelp. It was amazing! I got the eggs Benny. It was amazing! And deep fried breakfast potatoes!! I love the decor reminded me of being in someone's house. Very cute! Staff was super nice! CASH ONLY. But they have an ATM
Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy but we were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress was pleasant and attentive while she took our drink orders. She promptly served us drinks while taking our food order. I had an eggs Benedict which was better than most. The decor is casual and it was clean, would not hesitate to return
